How can mid-scale residential density strengthen the urban fabric and extend the amenity through livable, protected residential space?

At Radio Park, the solution begins with integration with the master planned adjacent area and disciplined planning. The building mass reinforces the street edges and density increases at the heart of the neighbourhood, contributing to the continuity of the urban realm while organizing residential life around protected internal amenity spaces. This approach allows density to support the commercial uses and a strong public realm while maintaining a sense of enclosure and calm within the block.

From early design stages, the project team integrated urban design objectives for the West District with pragmatic technical systems. Planning requirements and cost considerations were tested collaboratively through an iterative design process and continually framed against a strong architectural presence.

The result is a building that demonstrates how well-assembled density can quietly strengthen a neighbourhood's quality of life. Radio Park contributes to its context through housing, commercial, and specialized community-focused uses within thoughtful massing and carefully coordinated building systems designed to support the residents as well as the greater community.

Design direction was led by our founding Principals while practicing under METAFOR Architecture Inc. This project has since transitioned; attribution below reflects the permit-holding entity under which the Architect of Record practiced, by phase. The Architect of Record has remained the same throughout the transition.
